WEDDING PARTY
Maid of Honor
I met Emily when I moved back to Louisville, KY after college. We quickly bonded over our experiences in East Africa, our appreciation for art and music, and our love of nature. We even briefly shared custody of a piano together. Emily is one of the kindest, most caring people I know. She has been with me through thick and thin, and I always know I can count on her. Even though we live far apart now, her friendship always stays the same.

Jenni and I met in Pediatric Residency at University of Minnesota. I knew right away that she was one of the coolest and funniest people I had ever met, and she quickly became a best friend. Talking almost daily through all of the horrors we endured is probably the only reason I didn’t go insane in residency (shout out to the time she got bitten by a patient). She is always a shoulder to cry on, gives the best advice, and keeps me laughing no matter what.

Ashlee (center right) and I met in a summer physics class at UofL while we were both trying to get into medical school. We spent lots of long days in the library together suffering through physics problems. One year later, we ended up in the same class in medical school and became fast friends, especially bonding during late nights in the cadaver lab (along with Mary and Emily, also pictured here). Ashlee is the most brilliant person I know and is an incredibly loyal friend.

Irene is Carlo’s younger sister, and I fell in love with her the moment I met her. She is kind, fun to be around, and truly hilarious. She keeps me somewhat in touch with Gen Z culture and sends the best memes. Irene is also amazingly talented. She majored in Biology and Violin in college and is another future pediatrician. We are lucky that she is going to play the violin at our wedding ceremony! I’m so glad to have her and Anna, Carlo’s older sister, as part of my new family.

Best Man
Nathaniel and I met volunteering at a summer camp in Appalachian Kentucky in the summer of 2014. We immediately bonded over soccer, Batman movies, and bad country music and became fast friends. Our camp had a tradition of a last-man-standing wrestling match at the lakeside dock between all the counselors, and that summer ended with an epic showdown between me and Nathaniel that left me with a large scar which remains to this day. That summer marked the beginning of a long and rich friendship that has endured across many miles and life stages. Our friendship has shaped me in many ways, from the music I listen to, to the values I hold. Nathaniel is funny, intelligent, steadfast, idealistic, and deeply loyal - a true Kentuckian and an even truer friend.

Prateek and I met doing bar trivia in Bethesda, MD while we were both interns at the NIH. It was a chance encounter that would change the trajectory of both our lives, we became bros at first sight. We were both major slackers and used our abundance of free time to have long winding conversations over coffee, explore the DC food scene, and do battle in the cutthroat DC bar trivia scene over pints of Yuengling. We’ve since made a lot of great memories like grilling outdoors and exploring beautiful places like Zion National Park and Cleveland, Ohio. Prateek is the smartest person I know but super humble and always quick to crack a joke, and I’m excited for the adventures ahead.

Corey and I were roommates at THE Ohio State University. We were responsible for doing the grocery shopping for our house and bonded during our weekly runs to Kroger. My favorite things about Corey are his infectiously upbeat personality, great sense of humor, and ability to make friends with just about anyone. My favorite memories with Corey include backpacking up the tallest mountain in Virginia, roadtripping through the Carolinas for BBQ, and hanging out in Pittsburgh. Corey has been with me through thick and thin, he has always been there through good times and bad and I am lucky to call him my friend.

John is Alison’s brother and I am super stoked to gain a most excellent brother-in-law. I met John in Morocco, where he was living as an expat and I could immediately tell that John was a laid back, adventurous guy. John is the type of person who is equally at home having a full conversation in Arabic with a random Moroccan cab driver or shredding on a mountain bike. He is a role model for short kings everywhere. It has been great getting to know John better since we first met, and I appreciate his sense of humor and taste in memes. I am excited to keep up with John on whatever adventure he embarks on next.
